AusVet awards at AB-CRC Workshop

Ben Madin and Nigel Perkins received awards for the quality of their presentations at the Australian Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre Workshop held on Fraser Island from 11-14 May 2010. Ben was awarded the best Long Student Presentation, and Nigel the Best Plenary presentation.

Ben presented an informative and entertaining talk on livestock movement patterns in SE Asian countries. Nigel spoke on managing Hendra risks and the need for behavioural change in animal health professionals working with horses in Australia.

The Workshop was the final gathering of the ABCRC family and celebrated the achievements of the 7-year CRC, which ends on 30 June 2010.

AusVet has been privileged and honoured to be a part of the ABCRC and we look forward to continuing the many friendships and collaborative links that have been formed over the lifespan of the CRC.
