
David Kennedy

David has extensive experience in animal health investigation and program management, gained over 35 years in a variety of agricultural environments and livestock production systems in Australia, Asia and Africa. As a regional supervising veterinarian and the surveillance coordinator in NSW to 1995, he coordinated training, disease investigations, research and advisory programs and animal health information systems. Since co-founding AusVet in 1996, he has been National Coordinator and Technical Adviser to Animal Health Australia�s National Johne�s Disease Control Program and is actively involved in international policy and program development to control Johne�s disease. He has led teams on animal health and aquatic animal health projects and on project reviews of research and development projects as well as providing technical assistance to other programs.
David graduated in veterinary science with first class honours from the University of Sydney in 1975. He gained his Masters of Veterinary Studies in epidemiology at the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in epidemiology. He has formerly held positions as an examiner in epidemiology and as President and Honorary Treasurer of the College and as Vice-President of the International Association for Paratuberculosis.
