Ausvet has recently been contracted by the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF) to develop an Animal Biosecurity Emergency Response Plan (ABERP), together with Animal Health Australia.

The Plan will assist Fiji in responding to incursions and spread of exotic and invasive animal pests and diseases. This will include planning the protocols for relevant stakeholders and industries to take effective and coordinated action to safeguard the livestock sector in situations of animal health emergencies.

Our team will be traveling to Fiji to consult with a variety of stakeholders in early April. The work will culminate with an exercise to test the plan in July.

We look forward to working closely with BAF and to our involvement in beautiful Fiji.
