Céline is a French veterinary epidemiologist with a MSc in animal health, epidemiology and surveillance in Southern countries, and a PhD in epidemiology and surveillance.

Céline graduated from the National Veterinary School of Alfort in 2011. As part of her specialization program, she spent 6 months in Lao PDR working on the assessment of the H5N1 surveillance networks in Southeast Asia. Because of her interest in animal health surveillance and collaborative approaches, she joined the coordination unit of the Caribbean animal health network (CaribVET) in 2011. It gave her the opportunity to be involved in many different applied projects such as the assessment of the epidemiological surveillance networks, the development and the assessment of training projects for local veterinary services, and the coordination of surveillance activities.

In 2012, she came back to Europe and completed a PhD in France (INRA, Clermont Ferrand University) and the Netherlands (Central Veterinary Institute, Utrecht University). Her work focused on risk-based surveillance for vector-borne diseases in horses. It allowed her to develop her quantitative skills and her enthusiasm for data mining.

Between 2016 and 2019, Céline worked as a research fellow at the Veterinary Public Health Institute of the University of Bern, Switzerland. She was involved in many different projects focusing on integrated disease surveillance systems, transdisciplinary approaches, questions related to (big) data access, validation and integration, and methods to combine multiple sources of information. Céline joined Ausvet in 2019.

In her free time, Céline loves the outdoors for hiking and gardening, but she also enjoys indoor activities such as cooking (and eating!), wood carving, and reading mystery novels.
